CBD, also called cannabidiol, is an active ingredient (cannabinoid) that the cannabis plant contains. It is one of the numerous cannabinoids found in the hemp plant.

Cannabis contains several active ingredients - including CBD and THC - only their effects are different. The active ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is known to get you "high". In contrast, CBD has no intoxicating effects.

Hemp and marijuana originally come from the same crop, but are completely different. On the one hand, cannabis plants were selectively bred in order to achieve the highest possible THC content, while on the other hand the legal hemp cultivation remained unchanged in order to obtain a variety of different products. The cannabinoid CBD is also extracted from these hemp plants, which in the EU may have a maximum THC content of 0.2%.

CBD is a non-psychoactive substance and therefore does not fall under the Narcotics Act. In Austria as well as in the whole of the EU there is a THC limit of 0.2% which can legally occur in every hemp product. Textiles, food and thousands of other products are produced from this industrial hemp. Cannabidiol, also called CBD, is obtained through the CO2 extraction of the hemp plant.

In Austria, CBD is currently not classified as a medicinal product, which is why free trade is possible. Unfortunately, we cannot give any recommendations for consumption, intake or dosage. According to the Agency for Food Safety (AGES), our product is not approved for consumption in Austria. The THC content of our CBD products is below 0.2% and comes from hemp plants that are registered in the EU variety catalog. So they can be sold completely legally in Austria and the whole EU. Laws can be changed quickly, however, so please read up on the specific laws regarding CBD.
